Accomodation

The surfhouse has an breathtaking view on the ocean and can accommodate 12 people. There are four rooms: two double rooms with queen size beds, one twin room with single beds and a dorm room for six people with a bathroom. The house is equipped with bed and bath linens, 3D TV, free internet, library, a full equipped kitchen, terrace and lounge area and private parking. The surfcamp is located in the heart of Funchal, two minutes walking distance from the beach, surrounded by the best restaurants (Portuguese and tradicional Madeira cuisine, Italian, Japanese, Indian) and bars, rent-a-cars and bike rental, airport bus at the door, 10 minute walking distance from the Funchal marina and harbour.

Surf

It´s for those who want to seriously learn how to surf or simply have fun sliding through the waves. The school works in partnership with Madeira Surf Club and has the support of three surf instructors and monitors accredited by Portugal Surf Federation. The school, located in Porto da Cruz, Alagoa Beach offers wonderful surf conditions for beginner level and is open throughout the year. Occasionally, the surf school also uses an alternative beach, Maiata beach, 300 meters away.

The requirements to attend classes at our school are know how to swim, and in case of being a minor (18 years old according to Portuguese law), having parent´s permission. The school has all necessary equipment for beginners (boards, suits, lycras, and other accessories), so we will provide full support.

Surf season: all year round, May till September small waves and therefore well suited for beginners / Best season for advanced surfers: October till April

Water temperature: Summer: 18-22°C

In the winter months we recommend a 3/2 wetsuit and booties!

Offer

1. Surf Course Package:
Our surf course package offers accommodation at the Surf House, breakfast, beach snack and surf lessons per week with 6 sessions, each session lasts approximately 2 hours, including material during the surf lessons.

2. Spot Guiding Package:
Intermediate to advanced surfers also have the option to booking a private Surf guiding. This includes 3 hours private surfing lessons, transportation  and spot guiding and analysis before and after the lesson. The material isn't included, but can be hired locally.

3. Bed & breakfast:
7 nights accommodation in a  single- or double/twin room or in a shared room, 7x breakfast. The house is also equipped with a living room with TV and internet, a bar, a dining room, kitchen and three garden and lounge areas. It offers a totally relaxed atmosphere. Besides surfing, we offer many other activities.

4. September Special:
Specialprice, during the whole month of September! Our surf course package offers accommodation at the Surf House, breakfast, beach snack and surf lessons per week with 6 sessions, each session lasts approximately 2 hours, including material during the surf lessons.

Surfboard shaping courses
In a professional workshop you will have the possibility to shape your own board! The course takes 5 days(6h per day), the master shaper accompanies you throughout theprocess of shaping your board.
Price for the course: CHF 575 / EUR 500

Surfboard rental
Surfboards for all levels can be hired locally. We will check for you if the required equipment is available on site. Board rental 2hours: CHF 23 / EUR 20, Wetsuit 2 hours: CHF 18 / EUR 15

Arrival/Airport pick up
The house is located at Campanário, Ribeira Brava. To come to Madeira there are several airlines (standard and low cost) operating from all Europe. The airport is about 20 minutes distance from our surfcamp. At this quiet location we are in between nearby wonderful surf spots and the beautiful city of Funchal with all it´s services and night life. We can facilitate transportation and airport collection for 30 EUR per way, which is cheaper than taking a taxi. Just let us know what you need and we will coordinate!
