Piha is one of the best and most beautiful surf spots in New Zealand, and the main location for our surf lessons and tours. It is only a 45 minute drive from Auckland and has some of the most consistent surf of the North Island. The North East Cost, Coromandel and Raglan are all within only 2.5 hours drive of Piha so it is an ideal base for all of your surfing adventures.
The Surflodge provides quality, picturesque, eco-friendly, self-catering accommodation in relaxed, secluded surroundings. It is only a short walk from Piha village and the main surfing beach, and is located in the heart of the Waitakere Ranges. If you feel like a day away from the surf you are within easy access many awesome bush and beach walks or why not climb Lion Rock or take a swim in Kitekite falls. Add in the stunning Piha sunsets and you couldn't have a more perfect location for an unforgettable stay.
The 5, 7 or 14 days Surf Tour is a surf adventure for all levels including beginners through to advanced. Our tour may take you to a variety of beautiful surf beaches which offer a range of waves for every surfing level. We go where the surf is best! Your surf guides are internationally recognized ISA surf coaches, hold first aid certificates and have a vast knowledge of the areas that you will be surfing. This tour is often described by our guests as the best thing they have done while travelling through New Zealand. You simply will not find a better organised surf tour in New Zealand!
Surf Safari Package:
The 5, 7 or 14 days tour is a surf safari for beginners to intermediate surfers. Our surf van gets you on the beach to remote locations where you can learn to surf in uncrowded conditions. Our tour takes us to the sub-tropical waters and climate of the winterless north. Northland offers a variety of waves to suit all abilities.
Included in the package: accommodation in 2-3 bed room, dormitory style at the Surflodge (bedding provided), food for 3 meals daily (self-catering), yummy sunset BBQ's (Vegetarians no problem!), lunch on Monday and Friday while in transit is at your own expense, 5 days surfing trips with daily Surf Lessons (we are normally in the water for 2 hours per surf, depending on the conditions) incl. Surfboards, wetsuits and accessories, surf safety, beach and swell dynamics, surfing etiquette etc., Beach activities, all transportation, pick-up and drop-off from central city Auckland (lunch on Monday and Friday during the trip from Auckland to Ahipara not included)

Note: The Surf-Package can be customized on request for your desired length of stay. Depending on the arrival and departure you have to drive to or from Ahipara by yourself. There is the possibility of a pleasant Intercity Buses (approximately NZD 80 / route).
Arrival / transfers
We provide the transfer from Auckland City to Ahipara (included in the Surf Safari Package). The Airport Shuttle Bus costs NZD 24.00 to get to the centre of Aukland. It will take you around 4 hours to drive from Auckland to the lodge. The Pick Up is on Sundays at 07.30 clock. With the 5 day trip you are in Auckland Thursday at 14.00 clock and with the 7 & 14 day trip every Saturday 17.00 clock back in Auckland.
For people who prefer to drive by theirself or are anyway traveling through NZ by car, there is also the possibility of a Self Drive Surf Package: You are following the guides with your hired car and surf together the lonely surf spots. Package price on request. We recommend the Car hire from / to Auckland.
