Accommodation

In the main building, our surf house has a spacious and airy dorm with 8 beds on the upper floor. There are also two private beachfront bungalows on stilts, each with a double and a single bed. There are two spacious house bathrooms to share. These stone structures are partially covered by thatched roofs with showers open to the sky – the perfect place for a private refreshing, moonlit shower. Green plants and flowers abound in and around our bathrooms, and we believe that they are some of the most beautiful bathrooms in Guatemala. Come and judge for yourself!

The surf house also offers two bungalow suites that have their own private bathrooms in the same open and spacious style as the shared ones.

The Casitas combine the best of everything we have: the private hangout area towards the beach, the ocean-view and the breeze right at your bed upstairs, the private bathroom with starlit shower, plus an additional double bed downstairs.

All beds have high-quality mattresses and large mosquito nets. The house and the bungalows are very open and designed to maximize the sea breeze. While fans are provided for those especially hot nights, they’re not often needed. With oversized Asian-style thatched roof “skylights,” both the dorm and beachfront ranchos offer superb ocean views – check the surf right when you wake up! From the dorm, the North-facing skylight additionally offers morning views of the volcanoes Agua, Acatenango, and Fuego.

Surf

Enjoy the most consistent surf in Guatemala at our surf house. The expansive black-sand beach break is never, ever crowded, and with a ton of exposure we pick up just about every swell that rolls along the Pacific and over to Guatemala. Typical wave heights are chest- to head-high from November to April, and head-high plus from May to October. The break works on anything from a knee-high to double-overhead swell, and there is rarely a day without something to surf.

While you can surf here during the whole year, the best time for beginners is during the dry season from November to April when the waves are smaller and calmer. Of course we surf the whole year in shorts and no wetsuit is needed!

Arrival / Transfer

We can pick you up at the airport (between 6 am and 5 pm). That way you'll be at the beach in less than 3 hours. 1-4 person it's USD 120 per way, additional person USD 15 per person and way. If you arrive after 5 pm we can offer you a transfer package with an overnight stay in Antigua. That's a beautiful little colonial town (UNESCO world heritage) in about 30 minutes distance from the airport. Price for the transfer package (transfer airport-Antigua, night in a hotel, transfer to the surf camp the next day): USD 140 per way if you're travelling alone, USD 80 per person and way if you're two or more persons. All the transfers have to be payed directly at the camp.
