The surf school is situated in Tamraght, a quiet Berber village 15 kilometer north of Agadir. Thanks to the microclimate and more than 360 sunny days per year, Morocco’s west coast is an ideal holiday destination through out the whole year. Even during the summer the coast stays very pleasant. With a constant breeze from the Atlantic cooling the air remarkably, with temperatures amongst 22-26 degrees, also in the summer. It rarely gets warmer than 30 degrees. The water temperatures vary from 15 degrees in the winter to 23 degrees in the summer.
Along the coast are numerous famous surf spots such as Anchor Point, Killer Point, Boilers, Banana Beach/Point plus several secret spots to be discovered.
The storms in Europe, filtered by the Azores anticyclone generate optimal surf condition for all levels. The larger waves are from October through to March. As the surf spots are all differently oriented, including some well-protected beaches, you can be sure that you will find your ideal wave in all conditions.
Breath taking landscape, world cultural heritages, historic sites from 1001 nights and the generous hospitality of the locals awaits you. Morocco intrigues by its diversity and its uniqueness. The bustling activity at the souk (local market) enables you to dive in to a world of smells of unknown spices, colourful stands and the traditional every day live.
Away from the bustling city, you have the feeling live stands still. Quiet villages, idyllic olive groves, oases surrounded by palm trees, impressive mountains with snow covered caps and the rough beauty of the desert inviting you to pause for a moment and let the variety of impressions sink in.
Besides sun, beach and the sea, Morocco offers with its royal cities Marrakech, Fes, Meknes and Rabat and historical kasbah’s a wide range for culturally interested people. It’s well worth adding some days to your surf trip to visit other places!
In Tamraght you can find small grocery stores, a pharmacy and some restaurants. Taghazout, a more touristy place 4 km up north, offers a wider range of restaurants, surf- and souvenir shops. Aourir - also known as Banana Village - is a very traditional village situated just before Tamraght. Aourir is famous for its Tajines (traditional Moroccan dish) and the small bananas growing along the river.
You will be accommodated in the beautiful Surf Villa, a large house in the hills of Tamraght overlooking the Atlantic and the surf. With its magnificent smelling garden and several terraces from which you can admire beautiful sunsets, this is the perfect place to relax, forget work and enjoy your vacation. You can reach the beach by foot within 15 minutes.
The villa has several rooms, each individually furnished and decorated. The surf package includes accommodation in a standard room (for 2 to max 4 people) with a shared bathroom. For an extra charge you can book a single room and/or a suite/mini studio with private bathroom.
The freshly made breakfast is served every morning on the terrace or in the communal room. You have the option to eat dinner at the villa by placing your order in the morning. To be more flexible and enjoy the restaurants around Tamraght we recommend to order the dinner on site.
WiFi is available free of charge in the main building of the Villa. The owner Margrit, originally from Switzerland and her moroccan husband Mohamed are always present at the villa, taking well care of their guests.
There are many different kind of surf spots along the coast. Long sandy beaches for the beginners, point breaks for the advanced and secret spots for the adventurous surfers.
After breakfast you will be picked up at Villa Solaria, the time fitting in with high/low tide. The tide also defines which surf spot you are taken to, enabling you to surf the ideal conditions matching your surf abilities.
The surf lesson takes place in the morning and in the afternoon session you can further practice and perfection whatever you learnt in the morning. A qualified surf instructor is continuously present, observing and helping you improve your surfing skills.
With surf guiding you are taken to the best surf spots, receive all necessary information in regards to how the wave breaks and any current or other obstacle/danger to be aware of. A qualified surf instructor is constantly present, either on land or in the water, keeping an eye on you for your security.
You will be served a light lunch on the beach giving you energy for the afternoon surf session.
Surf lessons and guiding are held in English and/or French. Throughout the week you are provided with a wetsuit and surfboard matching you surf ability.

Arrival / Airport Transfer
The closest airports to Tamraght are Agadir and Marrakech. Airport Agadir is 40 minutes drive away and Marrakech 3,5 hours. There are regular busses commuting between Marrakech and Agadir. The transfer from and to airport Agadir or the bus station are included in the package with a minimum one week stay.
Alternatively you can rent a car and make your own way to Tamraght. There is a new motorway between Marrakech and Agadir and the coastal road leading to/from Essaouira is picturesque. We recommend to avoid driving long distances after sunset as the roads are not lit and there are many pedestrians walking on the road and motor bikes charging along with no head light.
Climate: The summer months can be hot with temperatures reaching up to 30°C. Water 18 – 22°C. In the winter the temperatures are around 18 - 26°C and the water 17 - 22°C.

Surf lessons: In French and English
Visa: To enter Morocco you need a passport valid for at least 6 months prior to expiry. You don’t need a visa for Morocco.
Health: There is no Malaria risk
Board rental: Board rental per day EUR 9 / Stand Up Paddle rental with paddle and leash per day EUR 25 / Wetsuit rental per day EUR 5. The material rental is to be paid up front (the rental costs are already included in the surf packages)
