The adventure starts in the Las Rocas surf camp at the edge of the Atacama desert. The north of Chile offers surfers a very different dream-world with loads of fantastic spots! And whilst at home the colours of autumn slowly change into winter, you can enjoy the approaching summer in Iquique.
Chile is a geographical curiosity - with a maximum breadth of 380 kilometres, Chile unifies the most extreme natural conditions of the whole continent within its borders.

Accommodation:
The surf camp is located in Iquique, very close to many different surf spots. Las Rocas is furnished in a youth-hostel style and has a very cosy television and video lounge complete with sofas and hammocks. The double rooms are decorated in 'Bali style'. You share a simple kitchen as well as showers and toilets with your fellow occupants. Hostal Beach is a guest-house with higher standards about 200 metres from Las Rocas away. Certain bedrooms even have TV. Those who would like a little bit more privacy and calm might choose this accommodation.

Surfing:
During the Chilean summer from November to April, the waves are rather small. The training beach, 'Playa Huayquique' (a beach break), is perfectly suitable for beginners. Coaching is given by Miguel Combina in English and Spanish. Of course, there are also great surf breaks for experienced surfers in the area. 'LA PUNTA 2' and 'Intendencia', two faster waves, are located at only 5 minutes on foot from your accommodation. From May to October, you can meet the surfing elite from South America here. During this period, the waves can get as high as 12 feet. As the South Pacific is rather cold during the winter months, you might appreciate the equipment at your disposal in the Las Rocas surf camp. There are also organised surf trips to Peru!

The camp price includes :
accommodation for 14 nights in the Las Rocas youth hostel or in Hostal Beach, breakfast, 5 surfing sessions per week, surfing equipment, airport shuttles and transfers to some more remote surf spots.
