Beachbreak Zicatela
December to March: The off-season is the fun season for the beach break. The waves break every day, but the swells are smaller and guarantee a lot of fun. The break is not very frequented in the winter months and you will find waves every day, possibly also the wave of your life!
April to November: From spring on, the South swells arrive and the beach break turns into a big wave machine with plenty of current and hard-hitting waves. Between the swells, however, there are plenty of days when the waves are not so big, but still perfect for small tubes. Only for advanced surfers. When the waves break at the big swell, watching is an absolute spectacle! Better at mid to high tide.
Pointbreak La Punta
December to March: Here you will find waves from “small to medium-sized”, a break with a big fun factor! The wave breaks long and not as hard as the beach break.
April to November: With the first SouthSwells, La Punta turns into a fast, long pointbreak suitable for beginners and advanced surfers. Due to the fact that Puerto Escondido is a famous surfing destination and “La Punta” is suitable for different levels, the spot can be very busy. Better at low to mid-tide.
Playa Carizallio Reef Break
December to March: The bay is mostly flat in the winter months, except when it has an extraordinary amount of swell. The bay is ideal for lingering and swimming.
April to November: The left wave is ideal for longboarders and generally for surfers who prefer a chilled vibe. The right wave is only for advanced surfers as it breaks at the rocks and the reef is close to the surface. Better at low to mid-tide.
