Overview
In 2011, Ericeira became the first World Surf Reserve in Europe, second in the world. A place praised for 8 km of shoreline brimming with world class surf spots, and one of the most preserved surf-havens on the planet.
This ancient fisherman village has an amazing coastline, therefore exploring the coast is a must do, you will find 8 different beaches where you can sunbathe, fall asleep with the relaxing sound of the waves, have a meal with a sea view or toast to the sunset and to another well spent day. If you enjoy walking or biking there are a few off-road tracks that you can use to get to know the town and its surrounding areas.
Here you have the most incredible blend of tradition and excitement, and you can find that in the narrow-cobbled streets. Quirky houses, traditional and modern restaurants serving the most delicious food, cafes, bakeries, shops, markets and warm-hearted people who will keep you coming back. During the summer the streets will have live music, streets fairs, bars opened until 2:00 am, 7 days a week. And if you have the energy you can hit the club until 7:00am. If you are seeking for more adventure you can enjoy the skatepark, one of the elected spots to watch the sun setting especially on Fridays where you can enjoy it with live music.

Accommodation
The Surfcamp sits in one of the few secluded properties in Ericeira. Right next to it, the community garden and a picnic park give it a feel of being surrounded by nature. Within minutes, you can walk to different beaches or pop down the town centre. And you just need to go down the road to find a pharmacy, supermarket or restaurant.
Rooms
The Surf camp offers dorms up to 5 people, double and twin rooms in the main house, and two bungalows – the Duke and Captain Jack, with double bed, private bathroom, kitchen and lounge. You’re also welcome to use the main house kitchen, barbeque and TV lounge at any time; as well as our chill out areas, sun decks and terraces.
The average capacity is for 27 guests. We like to keep small numbers so that everyone has the best possible experience. The property itself has around 1000m2, so you have ample common areas and big spaces outside to relax.
Meals
All accommodation includes breakfast and free coffee & tea all day. Breakfast is usually from 9h to 10h, except on early Surf days. And, yes, we can be flexible with the group after a barbeque night party. Apart from breakfast and organized meals, we prefer to offer the barbecue area and an open kitchen to keep it homely. You’ll even have your own storage unit for groceries. There’s a barbecue and a spacious open kitchen with fridges and individual storage units where you can keep your groceries. You know what else is cool? You only need to cross the road to go shopping
Surf
Ericeira is the only World Surf Reserve in Europe and one of the most consistent spots on the North Atlantic coast. There is such a variety of waves, beaches, reef and point break, that you’ll find perfect spots, regardless of your experience. The instructors are stoked to share a bit of the silver coast experience with you. Apart from their personal experience all over the world, they have thousands of sea-hours, in class, with all learning levels but most importantly, they are credited by the Portuguese Surf Federation, the International Surf Association (L2) and all certified and experienced Lifeguards and first aiders to give you the best possible experience.
Beginner & Intermediate Level
If you never have surfed before, want a quick recap or already have some experience this surf holiday is ideal for you. On the first lesson, you’ll be assessed and grouped according to your experience and coached in small groups. We keep a ratio of 5 or fewer guests per instructor to guarantee quality, safety and FUN. We always aim to teach on a beach break (sandy beach) even if we need to drive further along the coast.
Overall we will be looking to learn/improve your pop-up and paddle techniques, front side and backside turns, help you with wave timing and with the video analysis session you will be able to watch and talk through the areas you are already smashing and the ones you can improve.
Advanced Surfer
If you’re ready for it, we couldn’t be more excited. Our Surf instructors are prepared to train champs and athletes. You can either book lessons during your week, or book a Green Waves pack – that includes one-on-one coaching, surf theory, technique and video analysis.

Airport transfers
Airport transfers are included in the Surf Course Premium Package.
For all other packages, transfers can be booked separately.
Pick-up is possible both from Lisbon Airport and Lisbon Downtown.
Arrival
Airport-Transfers
We have transfers from and to Lisbon Airport on check-in days – at any time. These are included in our Premium Packs, but if you have a different one, don’t worry. You can still request a transfer before you travel (costs extra).
Public Transport
You can arrive by taxi for 70€ on average, or by bus for less than 10€ per person. In this case, you’ll need to get on the tube to Campo Grande station and get the bus to Ericeira from there. That will take around 90 minutes, and cost less than 10€.
Rental car
Unless you are visiting other places before or after your stay, it is not necessary to rent a car. You can use the airport and beach transfers, and everything in town is within walking distance. We also offer tours to Lisboa, Óbidos, Sintra and other cool places if you want to explore a little further. If you still can’t satisfy the Indiana Jones in you, we recommend to rent a car at the Lisbon Airport. You can park your car at the camp for free.
More information
At the surf camp, the team offers a few extra activities to make your days a bit more special. On site you can book a horse riding tour that will take you on an adventure through the valleys and beach. Or a guided cycling tour through the World Surf Reserve, have a wine tasting experience at a local wine producer or treat yourself with a full-body Ayurvedic massage on camp. Visit castle-enclosed villages, giant Buddha gardens and world heritage sites including the capital, Lisbon. Get on a longboard, cruise around the beach and enjoy the flow of it all joining the SUP Sessions, work on your balance and strength with yoga and aerial yoga lessons, get the popcorn, blankets and gather the crew for an outdoor movie nights for an Endless Summer feel and on Wednesday nights join the BBQ with plenty of sangria, meat & veggie options, followed by a night out in town.
