«We at Burton are very happy to be part of the Girlie Snowboard Camps as we feel there is a need to support and push the girls from an early stage of their snowboard experience. Furthermore we believe that the Girlie Snowboard Camps are the perfect platform for every girl out there to see the sport from another perspective and give them a deeper insight. United girls are stronger, and so will they push themselves to their limits or even beyond, but in a relaxed atmosphere without any pressure where they all feel comfortable. The girls will also have the opportunity to test our women specific product line ranging from hardgoods to softgoods and goggles, made by women for women» Ivar Fougstedt, Brand Manager, Burton Snowboards.

Girlie Production has the real passion for all kinds of board sports, we want to share our passion and dreams with all the same-minded girls out there! Girlie Surf and Snowboard Camps are the unique opportunity for the board sport loving girls to meet, inspire and push each other. Express yourself in the right environment.

The first Girlie Snowboard Camps were organised last winter. The camps were a huge success! Girls from all ages turned up and the atmosphere and feedback from the camps were awesome!
Year 2004, Girlie Snowboard Camps presented by Burton Snowboards will take place on seven different locations in Europe with an unique concept. The camps are for girls of all levels of snowboarding with classes thought by certified instructors, including female professional riders. All camps include park/halfpipe/freeriding depending on the resort. Program outside slopes continues with « après snow », yoga, spa and other activities.

Amount of participants: Maximum 25-30
Age: 16 and up

Accomodation
 In self-catering apartment or hotel. You will be sharing room with other girls.

Food
 Two dinnners out are always included in the camp fee. Other meals vary from camp to camp, depending on if we stay in apartment or hotel.

Linen
 Bring your own or rent at the spot. We need to be notified one week in advance if you would like to rent.

Insurance
You will need to make sure you are fully insured, Girlie Camps cannot be held responsible in the event of an accident. Please also make sure that your insurance is valid for alpine travel and bring all your relevant insurance certificates. Before arriving you will be asked to read and sign some documents in order to be sure to participate in the full programme.

 Bring your own or rent at the spot.

Levels of riding - How the levels are set/ description:
 0-1 year = beginner
1-2 years = average
3 years plus = advanced

On the first day at the camp we will determine each girls' level of snowboarding. We will collect information about experience, length and frequency of riding, favourite discipline etc.

We will begin by riding en masse; this is simply a session of pure free riding on piste. During this session we will evaluate everybody's level, by looking at both riding technique and attitude.

The girls will then be divided into groups depending of their level of snowboarding. For total beginners we will have certified instructors to give lessons, for the slightly more advanced there will be pro-riders giving tips and helping to improve riding technique.

On day one, no matter what group you are in, we will all focus on riding technique. A good riding technique is necessary to become a good rider. After that we will practice jibbing and board control, jumps, pipe, and backcountry freeriding.

There will be a cameraman to film the girls in action. At the end of the day we will check the days footage together and do an analysis based on the material. This way each girl will see her own riding and progression.

Special requests? It maybe that some of you wish to focus on one discipline in particular, such as riding park or freeriding. If this is the case we are more than willing to listen to everyone's wishes, depending on what each resort has to offer.

Girlie Snow Camp in Livigno 10-17 January 2004
 The first Girlie Snowboard Camp, presented by Burton Snowboards, is taking place in Livigno, Italy the 10-17 January. Held at the same time as one of the world's biggest snowboard events, the Burton European Open, this is the camp you just can't miss! All the best riders in the world will be taking part to this event and you might get the chance to ride with them. The Girlie Camps gives an unique opportunity for girls to have fun and go riding together.Guys don´t bother!

Livigno is famous for it's good snow, sunny weathers and tax-free shopping.

Price for this 7days camp is EUR 530,- , which includes the hotel*** with breakfast/dinner, liftpasses, lessons, video analysis, goody bag from our sponsors and other activities like yoga, bowling etcÖ Riding in Livigno goes from freeriding, to parks and halfpipes. You can try it all!
